I was very uncertain about coming – worried about leaving my seriously ill partner for whom I was caring.  But I did come and thank goodness – not only did I have the time and freedom to at last complete a play I had almost given up on but I returned home feeling refreshed and invigorated after being so well looked after with wonderful lunches under the wisteria in the garden, the glorious afternoons in the sun by the pool and with  a completed manuscript – right down to what Barrie calls the best two words in the English language: The End.  As I write this I’ve just heard my play is to have a professional reading at a London theatre.  Thanks you Collaldra, a very special writers’ retreat.
